Built in 1967 by Dick DeBiasse/Automotive Engineering Research in Madison, New Jersey, this car's original owner was Jimmy Young, and it was sponsored by Hoffman Chevrolet. It is a real 1967 Z-28, one of only 602 built. It has its original "4L" code on the trim tag, which denotes the Z-28 for the 1967 model year, and also retains its original VIN plate.. The car was originally, and still is, "Deepwater Blue." It was an original radio and heater delete car. The car's first race was the 1967 Marlboro Trans-Am, driven by Lake Underwood. It was also driven by Dean Alles in the 1968 Bridgehampton Trans-Am. This Camaro still retains its original roll cage and SCCA roll cage stamp. It also has its very rare J56 heavy-duty over-the-counter big bearing, four-wheel disc brakes, and 12 bolt rear end. It also has the original sway bars, control arms, and other special period items like the special rear quick-fill fuel filler. The engine, all accessories, oil pan, clutch, brake master, pedal assembly, steering box, and steering column were rebuilt/replaced with correct and quality parts. |
