The car was purchased new at the Van Nuys CA plant by John Ware Sr.
John Ware Jr. wanted to get into SCCA Drivers school so they out a bolt in roll bar and he received his competition license with the car completely stock.
The car needed more rigidity so they took it to Dick Guldstrand's shop for preparation, where it received a full cage, larger brakes, and a beefed-up Muncie M-21 Transmission, with additional motor modifications.
It ran in the 1970 and 1971 Riverside Trans Am with John Jr Driving. They were able to obtain a super trick Jim Hall 4-11 rear end with negative camber and posi that helped the car outhandle the other Camaros. This is still on the car today. Between the 1970 and 1971 Seasons the car was painted Pumpkin Orange.
In 2013, the car went through a total transformation to bring the car back to its original configuration as it first ran in the 1970 Riverside Trans Am.
